Grumpy Monkey by Suzanne Lang

Summary:

Grumpy Monkey by Suzanne Long is the first in the monkey series.  Young Jim Panzee wakes up in a bad mood and can´t seem to get out of it.  His friends try to help him get out of his bad mood by telling him it´s going to be a wonderful day, to raise his eyebrows, to unhunch his shoulders, to dance, walk, eat, and much more, but nothing works!  Jim gets angry but finds comfort in his friend Norman, who also wakes up grumpy.  They share their grumpiness, until finally it passes.

Grumpy Monkey helps kids to understand it is okay to allow these feelings to exist.  It also empasizes the impact friends can have by expressing positivity and showing love and support.  This book allows children to be more in control of their emotions.
